Overview

2013 RM-Z250

For 2013, the Championship-caliber Suzuki RM-Z250 is more potent than ever. It features a long list of engine modifications designed to increase the mid- to top-end performance and provide smoother power delivery. The result is performance that lets you blast out of turns and blow by the competition on the straights. The RM-Z250 also features a redesigned chassis and suspension, including an all-new Separate Function front Fork (SFF) from Showa. It provides crisper, more stable handling so you can carve up the tightest tracks on your way to the top of the podium!

Features
Key Features
In 2010 Suzuki revolutionized race-day tuning with the introduction of a fuel-setting adjustment system. The RM-Z250 uses this innovative design, which consists of three couplers that allow you to quickly adjust the fuel setting to suit riding conditions. One coupler contains the stock settings, a second is for a richer fuel setting than the stock setting and the third is for a leaner setting.

All-new Showa Separate Function front Fork (SFF) separates spring and damping functions. The right leg holds the spring, while the left leg incorporates the cartridge assembly to manage damping. The SFF design reduces friction, increased absorption performance and is lighter weight resulting in remarkably smooth performance over a variety of track conditions.

The frame and seat rail have been refined for optimized rigidity balance. The result is an ideal balance of nimble handling and stability.

A new transmission provides smoother and crisper shifting. The clutch's cam release has also been modified for lighter operation and enhanced feel.

Riders can now track engine-operating time and better manage maintenance intervals using the optional FI indicator (Part #: 36380-28H00)
Engine Features
The RM-Z is powered by a compact and lightweight 249cc, fuel-injected, DOHC, titanium four-valve, semi-dry-sump, four-stroke engine. Its advanced, battery-less fuel-injection (FI) system, features a 44mm throttle body with progressive throttle linkage and a 16-bit computer.

The engine's aluminum cylinder is treated with Suzuki Composite Electrochemical Material (SCEM) coating. The cylinder is built for durability, is light weight and the coating allows for efficient heat transfer.

The FI system uses a unique capacitor-assisted starting system, and is powered by a durable, lightweight magneto-generator after starting.

A sturdy connecting rod and mirror finishing permits a stunning 13,500-rpm maximum engine speed.

Aluminum cylinder, with Suzuki Composite Electrochemical Material (SCEM) coating, is designed for durability, light weight and efficient heat transfer.

Redesigned exhaust system meets new FIM sound limits while increasing mid- to high-rpm power and delivery. The new muffler body now uses conventional bolts in end cap instead of rivets to simplify the replacement of the glass wool packing in the muffler.

A new ECM with higher processing performance and a new high power ignition coil optimize combustion efficiency for increased roll-on performance.

The RM-Z250's cooling efficiency is increased thanks to a redesigned radiator fin and revised water hose routing, making the bike's high performance power output more stable, even in the most demanding conditions. RM-Z250's also features a new by-pass hose routing to simplify occasional radiator maintenance.
Transmission Features
A 5-speed transmission provides extra flexibility, offering gear ratios suited for various terrains and conditions.
Chassis Features
The RM-Z250 features a twin-spar aluminum frame and aluminum swingarm developed and refined for a highly optimized balance between rigidity and superb high-speed traction.

The front fork inner tube diameter has been increased from 47mm to 48mm further improving stability and absorption. The spring pre-load is now adjustable, which allows a wider range of adjustment for any level of rider.

A gripper seat, with projected cross-shaped patterns on the top surface, provide additional grip.

High-quality Renthal handlebars featuring a tapered design are fixed to the rubber mounted triple clamp.
