With our 3.6-liter displacement computer controlled electronic fuel injection and powerful 2.29:1 final drive gear ratio, the DF250, DF225, and DF200 deliver maximum torque across the powerband. You’ll always have plenty of power the moment you ask for it. And our high-output 54A alternator provides plenty of electrical power for electronics.
When Only the Best is Good Enough
Our flagship V6 range provides the perfect power for both leisure and commercial craft. As part of our sole supplied agreement with the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games Sailing Regatta, the DF200 was one of the models used to power support boats.
Award Winning Technology
This was Suzuki’s fourth Innovation Award and proof that Suzuki leads the way in fuel-injected 4-stroke outboard motors.

Continuously Variable Valve Timing
The DF250 incorporates Suzuki’s advanced Variable Valve Timing (VVT). VVT is used to alter intake timing with the camshaft to optimize camshaft timing for low to mid-range operation. Combined with the outboard’s aggressive cam profile VVT delivers greater low to mid-range torque for powerful acceleration.

Multi Stage Induction
Suzuki’s Multi-Stage Induction system is used to increase engine performance. Each cylinder in this system is equipped with a set of short and long intake manifolds that are utilized in relation to engine speed. At lower rpm the longer pipes deliver an optimum volume of fresh air into the chamber, improving combustion and boosting low-end torque. At higher rpm, the valve on the shorter, direct intake pipe opens up letting air in the chamber directly boosting high-speed power output. (DF250/225)

Durability & Reliability
Suzuki’s formulated Suzuki Anti-Corrosion Finish starts with a special finish that offers maximum bonding of the finish to the Suzuki Aluminum Alloy. To this an epoxy primer undercoat, black metallic finish, and clear acrylic fiber finish are added to create an effective treatment against corrosion. This finish can be found on all Suzuki line-up models.

Computer Efficient Fuel Injection
Advanced multi-point sequential electronic fuel injection monitored by the 32-bit onboard computer keeps Electronic Fuel Injection performance fine-tuned. At the same time, fully transistorized ignition provides a hotter spark with less electronic interference.
Compact Designs
Thanks to our exclusive 55° bank angle and offset driveshaft layout, you get power and performance from a sleek, compact outboard that ll look great on any transom ꟷ especially yours.

Cleaner, More Efficient Operation
Suzuki’s advanced four stroke technologies deliver cleaner, more efficient operation that conforms to the Recreational Craft Directive (RCD) Standards and has received a three-star rating from the California Air Resources Board (CARB).
Largest Gear Reduction Ratio
Suzuki’s two-stage gear reduction results in a 2.29:1 gear ratio. We swing a large diameter prop designed to move a lot of waterꟷ and a lot of boat.

Offset Driveshaft
Pioneered by Suzuki, the use of the offset drive shaft on four-stroke outboards has long been utilized to reduce the size of the outboard. Found on all Suzuki four-strokes from the DF70A and up, this design positions the crankshaft in front of the drive shaft simultaneously moving the outboard's center of gravity forward. While the design contributes greatly to the outboard's overall compactness and increased power performance, it also moves the engine's axis of inertia, the point where engine vibrations are at a minimum, up over the upper engine mount, thus greatly reducing vibration. These outboards also incorporate two-stage gear reduction designed to take maximum advantage of the power produced by these high-performance engines. Providing a large final drive ratio, it delivers powerful torque for quick acceleration and great top-end speed.

2-Stage Gear Reduction
This system which incorporates the Offset Driveshaft features a first stage reduction between the crankshaft and driveshaft, and a second stage reduction inside the gear case. This design makes a larger gear ratio possible, allowing it to turn a large diameter propeller. Advantage: High propulsive efficiency with large diameter propeller, Powerful navigation, maintaining propeller rotation even with a larger load and increased power to turn large diameter propellers, offering quick acceleration.

Multi-stage Induction
Getting the right amount of air into the cylinder has a great impact on performance. High-speed operation typically requires a greater volume of air, low-speed less. Suzuki's Multi-Stage Induction system meets these needs by utilizing two intake manifold pipes per cylinder to ensure the engine gets the right amount of air. At low rpm, air enters the combustion chamber through a longer, curved manifold pipe designed to improve combustion and improve low-end torque. As rpm increases, the valves open on the direct intake pipes. Shorter and lacking resistance, these pipes allow a greater volume of air into the chamber, increasing the engine's ability to breathe efficiently at high rpm resulting in higher power output during high-speed operation.

Self-Adjusting Timing Chain
Suzuki’s self-adjusting timing chain is featured on 40 horsepower and outboard motors. The chain is oil-bathed and features an automatic hydraulic tensioner that keeps the chain properly adjusted at all times for maintenance-free operation.

Anti-Corrosion Finish
To guard against corrosion, Suzuki protects its outboards with its own specially formulated Suzuki Anti-Corrosion Finish. Applied directly to the outboard's aluminum alloy, this finish provides maximum bonding of the finish to the aluminum surface. Layering an epoxy primer undercoat, black metallic (or white) finish, and clear acrylic fiber finish on top of this forms an effective treatment against corrosion, protecting those parts of the outboard's aluminum alloy that are constantly exposed to saltwater.

Water Detecting System
Water in the fuel can lead to problems that include poor combustion, lower power output, and corrosion. The Suzuki Water Detecting System is designed to help protect outboard motors from moisture in the fuel utilizing a water detecting fuel filter to alert the operator with both visual and audio warnings when water is present in the fuel. The filter is also designed to let you check for water visually.

Selective Rotation
In multi-outboard installations on large boats, a counter-rotation outboard is usually paired with a regular rotation model to help keep the boat travelling on an even keel and in a straight line. On 150 horsepower and larger AP model outboard motors, the lower unit is built with special counter-rotating gearing, which causes the prop to rotate in the opposite direction. Suzuki Selective Rotation eliminates the need to purchase a dedicated counter-rotation outboard by using a special switch that when connected to a circuit inside of the engine compartment, turns a regular rotation outboard into a counter-rotation model with a counter-rotational propeller.* This industry first is made possible through a special, unified design of gears, shaft, and bearings in the lower unit that are designed to operate reliably and efficiently in either regular or counter-rotation directions.

Tilt Limit System
A tilt limit system that prevents the outboard from tilting beyond a certain angle to prevent contact with certain boats.
