In a powerful display of environmental stewardship, Suzuki Canada joined Suzuki Global’s “Oceans of Tomorrow” initiative—an international campaign aimed at restoring marine and freshwater ecosystems through coordinated clean-up events in communities around the world.
Across Canada, Suzuki employees and partners organized clean-up events in five provinces: British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario, Quebec, and Nova Scotia. One of the key efforts took place in Orillia, Ontario, where staff from Suzuki Canada’s head office gathered on Thursday, July 10, to clean a portion of the city’s Rail Trail.
The team focused on a stretch of trail between James Street and West Street, collecting discarded plastic, litter, and other debris that pose a threat to the local environment. This popular walking and cycling trail runs near several water channels, making it an important area to protect from runoff and pollution. By removing waste from this corridor, Suzuki employees helped reduce the amount of debris entering nearby waterways, safeguarding the region’s natural habitats and aquatic life.
The clean-up wasn’t just about tidying up—it was about taking responsibility. Team members came together with gloves, bags, and buckets in hand, driven by a shared sense of purpose and a commitment to leaving the area better than they found it. Their work not only made an immediate impact on the Orillia community but also served as a reminder that small, local actions can have a big effect on the global environment.
“Participating in this clean-up was about more than just picking up trash—it was about doing our part for the community and setting an example,” said Nick Stocki, National Marine Sales Manager at Suzuki Canada. “Environmental responsibility is a core value at Suzuki, and initiatives like this bring our team together to protect the places we live, work, and explore.”

This local effort ties into Suzuki’s long-standing Clean Ocean Project, first launched in 2011. The project promotes environmental awareness, shoreline restoration, and the development of eco-conscious technologies—such as Suzuki’s innovative outboard motors that collect microplastics during operation. Last year, Suzuki Canada staff conducted a similar shoreline clean-up in Halton Region, and the team has committed to making these clean-ups an annual tradition.
By actively participating in “Oceans of Tomorrow,” Suzuki Canada continues to champion environmental responsibility, sustainability, and community involvement. Through initiatives like these, the company is helping to build a cleaner, greener future—one trail, shoreline, and community at a time.
